Watercolor and Acrylic Painting: Adult Session
Get ready for our first ever 8-week Painting course! This course will introduce students to the materials and methods of painting with Watercolor and Acrylic paints. Students will be taught a variety of approaches to painting and create paintings on paper, panels and canvas. This class is for all painting abilities, no prior painting experience is required, everyone can work at their own level and learn and perfect new techniques.
Concepts and methods taught in this course will include:
Composition - systems for composing space
Color color mixing, color charts and color matching
Paints and painting mediums
Brushwork techniques
Painting techniques - washes, wet-in-wet and layering paints
Still life and portrait painting
Abstraction/ Abstract painting
This class will meet every Tuesday from 6-8:30pm from January 14th to March 4th.
Jean Richardson will be the instructor for this NAC Art Course. She has received a BFA in Drawing and Painting and an MFA in Studio Arts. She has been teaching art for 15 years, and has taught students from elementary school aged up to the college level.
